Truth and Beauty

We went last Saturday night (right as the fire department was finishing up the fire on South Carroll). We were able to get a two top at the back of the restaurant. The seats were near a dark hallway which felt a little unsettling but I do respect that the owner is being economical. Our waitress got us our drinks quickly. Our go to is the fried pickles. They are the best in town, hands down. I had the steak salad special and my wife had the shrimp and grits. I didn’t have the tomatoes on my salad and think it was needed(that’s on me, not the chef). The steak was cooked well and lightly seasoned. The waffle fries were crispy! My wife had the shrimp and grits and they were amazing. She usually eats half her portion and saves the second half for another meal, not tonight! Our server disappeared for a portion of our meal and I had to go to the bar to get a refill of my soda water( our waitress was also working the bar). I did feel there was a lack of communication by the staff because there other servers never checked in on us. That’s a little disappointing is such a small restaurant. That leads to my final frustration. They sat a four top with a booster seat and essentially blocked me in. I literally had to ask the other people to move their chairs so I could get out. So I hope my critiques are viewed as constructive. We will definitely go back because the food is always, ALWAYS, good. They are also super supportive of the LGBTQ community which is a reason to keep supporting them!

Hands down a 5 star. We went in for a cocktail and appetizers. The drinks were so unique tasting (sorry I forgot to get a picture of the drinks) We ordered the fried pickels, salmon, and roasted peppers appetizers. DELICIOUS 😋 We are so excited to go try the brunch and dinner very soon. Kudos to you guys for giving such a unique twist on delicious food.

We tried this place for the first time tonight and O M G it was amazing. We had fish and chips, pork belly, fried pickles, deviled eggs, and salmon bites and they were all so amazing We were pleasantly surprised by how quick and friendly the service was. The cocktails were amazing. Overall just amazing. We will definitely be back and highly recommend!!

Stopped in randomly and we were so impressed! We already knew this place deserved 10/10 for service even before we received our food. Server, Maggie and Heather (mgr?) were so kind and welcoming. Once we got food, we said, this place would be 10/10 based only on the food. Wings are exceptional, fried pickles, and fries impressed. Brunch entrees were outstanding.

I stopped in for their Wednesday night burger and beer special, loved it! The burger was amazing - included cheese, an easy-over egg and really gourmet bacon. The fries were terrific and the portion size appropriate. The craft IPA (from a can) was top quality - fruity and with that fabulous IPA flavor. The team behind the counter was super nice and attentive. I definitely will return frequently as they have displaced all the other burgers I've tried in Frederick to the side.
